True Love in True Blood
If you are looking for a some entertainment, and loved up vamp fests are your type of thing, then it may be worth your while to tune into the American TV drama series “True Blood”.True blood brings a world full of Vampires, shape-shifters, and telepaths together into one small town called “Bon Temps” situated in Louisiana. It all starts when the Japanese invent an artificial blood drink called “Tru Blood”, which vampires can drink as a substitute for human blood. As this new drink becomes more popular, vampires try and co-exist with humans in “Bon Temps”.
At the beginning of the first season we see a waitress called “Sookie Stackhouse” working in a bar which is owned by her shape-shifter boss (Sam Merlotte). Sookie is telepathic, which means she can read the minds of others, and know what they are thinking. Until one day, a mysterious newcomer enters the bar, and she finds she cannot hear what he is thinking. This newcomer is vampire Bill Compton, who she later forms a relationship with.
Throughout the first Season you get to witness a number of murders, including the murder of Sookie’s own Grandmother. All of these murders all seem to be connected to Sookie’s brother (Jason Stackhouse), who is the main suspect. Sookie’s love for Bill grows throughout series one despite the lack of support from her friends and co-workers, and so does her mission to find the real identity of the murderer.
With the second season of True Blood now coming to a close, it has proven to be just as nailbiting as the first. In the beginning of the second series we get to see Sookie and Bill’s relationship under strain as she learns to deal with sexy new vampiress Jessica. Sookie’s brother “Jason” also re-appears and joins up with a church that is against vampires.
