True blood is an American Drama series based around the story of vampires and humans co-habiting in a small town in Louisiana called Temps. It is currently coming to the end of it’s second series in the US, and everyone has come to know and love the characters. However if you are new to watching True Blood then you may be feeling a little lost. Here is a rundown on some of the main characters in True Blood, just so you can get to know them better.

Sookie Stackhouse – Sookie Stackhouse is our leading lady in True Blood. She recently moved to the town and lives with her Grandmother, and her Brother after her parents died. She is a telepathic waitress who can read the minds of others. She soon falls in love with a vampire named Bill Compton.

Bill Compton – Bill Compton is Bon Temp’s leading male vampire. He has lived for over 150 years, and was turned into a vampire when he was around 30 years old. He used to live in Bon Temps when he was younger, and recently returned to live in his family house. He is the love interest of Sookie Stackhouse.

Sam Merlotte – Sam is the owner of the bar where Sookie Stackhouse works. Him and Sookie Stackhouse are good friends, but he also holds romantic feelings towards her. Sam Merlotte is no ordinary bar owner, as he is also a shapeshifter. This gives him the ability to change into different forms like animals.

Jason Stackhouse – Jason Stackhouse is Sookie’s older brother. He is a normal type of bloke who works during the day, and likes to party at night. He is very good looking which attracts the attention of a lot of ladies. Jason Stackhouse generally gets himself into a bit of trouble from time time.

Andy Bellefleur – Andy Bellefleur is Bon Temp’s resident detective. When murders start to happen in the town he is the one that investigates them. He is not really respected by the other residents in town, and is quite pushy.
