The Twighlight Saga – Where Did it All Begin

6 September 2009 477 views No Comment

As with many new movies, the Twilight series first began as a set of four books, authored by Stephenie Meyer. It is believed that the original idea for her series of books came from a vivid dream she had one night. She dreamt about a young boy, and a young girl who stood in a field declaring their love for each other. Although, this was no ordinary boy. He was a vampire, struggling to contain himself from drinking the blood of the young girl he was falling in love with.

You could say that this dream was the beginning, the real birth of the Twilight Saga series. As from that moment on Stephenie Meyer stayed up late night after night at her computer to pen her first novel. Despite being a loving wife and a busy mother to four boys, she had managed to complete the book within three short months.

The only person who knew she was writing this novel was her sister, who she would email chapters of the story to as she finished them. Stephenie’s sister was so enthralled with the book, that not only did she pester Stephenie for the next chapters as she wrote them, but eventually persuaded her to get it published.

However, getting her first book published was not as easy as Stephenie first thought. She knew nothing about how the publishing world worked, so she looked online to gather up some information. According to her bio, she sent out 15 queries to various small publishers and literary agents, and received 7 or 8 rejection letters back. Despite her first set of rejections, eventually her book was published in 2005 with the help of an assistant at the “Writers House”, and a literary agent named Jodi Reamer.

After the huge success of her first novel “Twilight”, the sequel which was named “New Moon” was released in September 2006. In 2007, Stephenie’s third novel “Eclipse” hit the shelves of bookstores all around the world. Eventually on August 2nd 2008 the final book of the twilight series which was titled “Breaking Dawn” was released, and sold over one million copies in it’s very first day.

If you haven’t read the Twilight books, you should definitely get your hands on The Twilight Saga Collection. I couldn’t put the books down and read all these in just four days… And trust me that I am hooked to this story, and so much wish that Stephanie Meyer will continue with the Twilight Love Saga…
